The City of Cape Town finally received a team that they can truly call their own. A team of the city, by the city: Cape Town City FC represented the opportunity to build a football brand from the grassroots up. A full brand development project was initiated from the naming through to ‘go to market’ strategy and ongoing communication strategy.

The team’s aim is to one truly based within the community of Cape Town, with not only support but input and feedback — from the fan base being of paramount importance to the club’s owners and administrators. As a new, disruptive force on the local football scene, they want to do things differently, involving their fanbase from all over Cape Town in the process not only down the road but as part of the launch.
